Murumuru Butter is the light brown to yellow fat collected from the seeds of the Murumuru Palm Tree, native to the Brazilian Amazon. It is rich in oleic acid, making it a desirable addition to both hair and skin-care products. The butter is solid at room temperature but melts upon contact with skin, working as an emollient to trap and increase moisture binding without a lasting tacky or greasy feel. For hair, in particular, its naturally glossy appearance and emollient-like effect make it useful in the repair and protection of varying degrees of damage. Its hydrophobic qualities assure that the moisture will be locked onto the skin or into the hair during even humid conditions without beginning to feel weighty and losing effectiveness. Murumuru Butter can be used either in small or large levels, ranging from 3 – 100%.
